“Get out of here!” the woman is heard screaming in the video. “What is this nonsense? People are suffering, and you are doing this for your votes? Move your vehicles!”
Minister Lodha, a senior BJP leader, was seen standing on his campaign vehicle nearby as his supporters attempted to calm the woman down. However, her outburst continued, reflecting the boiling frustration of Mumbaikars who deal with some of the world’s worst traffic congestion daily.

The video has struck a chord with residents of Mumbai, who have long complained about political parties seizing public roads for shows of strength. Social media platforms were flooded with comments supporting the woman, with many calling her the “voice of the common man.”

While Minister Lodha’s office has not issued an official statement regarding the specific confrontation, supporters of the party argued that roadshows are a traditional and legal part of the democratic process during election season. They claimed that all necessary permissions were obtained from the local police.
Opposition leaders, however, were quick to capitalize on the viral moment. Leaders from the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Congress party shared the video, accusing the ruling Mahayuti government of being “tone-deaf” to the struggles of ordinary citizens.
